O Christmas Tree
With less than three days until Christmas, Ryan DeRamos has released his version of the traditional holiday song “O Christmas Tree” (an English-language translation of “O Tannenbaum”). A mono mix of the song will soon be found within LibriVox‘s 2010 Christmas Carol Collection. Here is the song in glorious stereo:
O Christmas Tree (2:22)
Ryan says: “Last year, I recorded an EP’s worth of Christmas songs for LibriVox. I almost wasn’t going to record a holiday single this year, but a friend convinced me otherwise. While deciding what song to perform, I wanted to have this A Night at the Opera vibe, and ‘O Christmas Tree’ was just a perfect fit. I imagined that an alternate-universe Brian May could have arranged ‘O Tannenbaum’ instead of ‘God Save the Queen’ to close that particular Queen album. In any case: I chose, learned, re-arranged, and produced the song in the course of two days. That’s an accomplishment in and of itself.”
